Panchkula Golf Course–(10 minutes rive)

Panchkula Golf Club is nestled in the Shivalik foothills. The Course sits pretty along the Ghaggar river with a pious view to the Gurudwara Nada Sahib.

The course has on offer narrow Fairways and some difficult Par 3’s. As Panchkula Golf Course is fairly young the Trees along the Fairways are yet to achieve their potential height to offer a Challenge to the seasoned Golfer. While playing at Panchkula we found the following holes exciting and offering a measured challenge.

The 2nd Hole, a PAR three with some 220 yards to the narrow Greens is well planned. The Range Fence on the Left and a narrow fairway to negotiate poses a measure of difficuty.

The Fourth Hole a Short Par 4 has a lake to the left of the Green. The yardage does tempt you to hit the Green on your first shot but the bunkers guard the green well and the lake is unforgiving if you draw the ball too much.

The Sixth hole a Par 4  has a short cut over the village tempting you to go over the fence to be within a sand wedge away from the green. A left dogleg otherwise forces you to use a 5iron and then a 6 to the green.

The tenth a Par 4 sits atop a hillock. On address you find yourself looking at a narrow fairway with River Ghaggar on your right and a village hutment on the left. The view from here is majestic and this hole would be it for me to go back to Panchkula and play again.

The 14th a Par 4 also offers a difficult shortcut over an OB roughage. Once negotiated, you sit within an 8 iron strike. The longer detour brings out the long irons.

The 15th a Par 5 almost misleads you to play it as a Par 4. An OB to the right and two Palm Trees with a deep Bunker however make you play this as a Par 5.

The 18th a Par 4 again has an OB to the right and to its Left. A Long Iron Par 4 for your second shot to nail the Green is a must.
